Microsoft's latest offering to the software development industry is 'DotNET'.  DotNet is Microsoft's umbrella term for a number of software technologies to ease the development of systems for information transfer storage and retrieval, systems integration, and device connectivity.  Built into the Microsoft platform and making extensive use of XML, DotNET drastically reduces the cost of building and deploying interconnected solutions.
